Himachal Pradesh Election: Voting has started on 68 assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh from 8 am today and will continue till 5:30 pm. The counting of votes will take place on December 8 and the results will be declared on the same day. While the ruling BJP is hoping to repeat its electoral success riding on its development agenda, the opposition Congress is urging voters to follow a four-decade-old tradition of ousting the outgoing government. Over 55 lakh voters in the hill state will decide the fate of 412 candidates in 68 constituencies, including Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh's son Vikramaditya Singh and former BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti.

Votes will be cast for all 68 seats in Himachal from 8 am. More than 55 lakh voters of Himachal will today decide the fate of 412 candidates in EVMs. Being a hilly state, the Election Commission has made tremendous preparations for today's voting.
