London: A further 778 people have died in U.K. hospitals from coronavirus, up from 717 yesterday, the latest figures show, as the country decides how much longer it can continue its lockdown.Some 93,873 people have now tested positive for the disease, up from 88,621 the day before, Department of Health and Social Care figures show. Ahead of today’s figures, the rate of increase in deaths and cases had been decelerating, according to Bloomberg calculations.The daily figures released by the U.K.’s health ministry report deaths on the day they were recorded, not the day they occurred, and only includes those who have died in hospitals.The country’s Office for National Statistics said on Tuesday that until April 3, 9.7% of deaths in England involving coronavirus occurred outside of hospitals.
