India-Vietnam Relation: Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday night. Pham Minh arrived in India on Tuesday on a three-day visit to further expand the bilateral strategic relations of the two countries. On his arrival in New Delhi, Chinh was welcomed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pabitra Margherita at the airport. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X, "Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is warmly welcomed on his arrival in New Delhi on a state visit." He said, India and Vietnam have civilizational ties and long-term friendship based on mutual trust. This visit will further strengthen our comprehensive strategic partnership.Formal welcome will be givenThe Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that Chinh has also been accompanied by a high-level delegation which includes several ministers, deputy ministers and business leaders. On August 1, he will be formally welcomed in the courtyard of Rashtrapati Bhavan, after which he will go to Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. India considers Vietnam a key pillar of its Act East policy and an important partner in the Indo-Pacific vision.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, bilateral talks will be held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minh on Wednesday. Apart from this, he is also scheduled to meet President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The ministry said that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is also expected to meet the Vietnamese Prime Minister.
