PM Modi Russia visit: Russia is looking forward to the very important visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the official residence and office of the Russian President, said this on Saturday. Peskov also claimed that Western countries are watching this visit with 'envy'.

Prime Minister Modi will participate in the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. PM Modi will be in Moscow on July 8 and 9 during this period. The Ministry of External Affairs had given information about this high-level visit in New Delhi on Thursday. The ministry said that through this visit, the two leaders will do a comprehensive review of the multifaceted relations between the two countries. Along with this, they will discuss contemporary regional and global issues of mutual interests.

PM Modi's visit is very important for Russia-India relations

Kremlin spokesman Peskov said in an interview to Russia's state television 'VGTRK' that apart from other programs, the two leaders will also have informal talks in Moscow. He said that obviously the agenda will be extensive, even if it is not called very busy. This will be an official visit and we hope that both the leaders will be able to talk in an informal way as well.

He said that the relations between Russia and India are at the level of strategic partnership. The state news agency 'TASS' quoted Peskov as saying, 'We are expecting a very important visit which is very important for Russia-India relations.'

'Western countries are watching this visit with 'jealousy''

Peskov also emphasized that Western countries are closely and jealously watching Prime Minister Modi's upcoming visit to Russia. In response to a question about the attitude of Western politicians towards PM Modi's visit to Russia, Peskov said, 'They are jealous, which means they are closely watching it. Their close monitoring means that they give it great importance.'
