Jharkhand Politics: Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu has been called by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) again for questioning today. Yesterday, in the money laundering case related to former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the central agency interrogated him for 11 hours in Ranchi. This inquiry took place regarding the BMW car found from Soren's house. It is being told that Sahu's problems may increase. However, he has claimed that the car is not his and neither is he related to it.

A luxury car BMW was recovered from Hemant Soren's house located in Shanti Niketan area of South Delhi. ED had told that the car was registered in the name of Dheeraj Sahu's Manesar-based company Bhagwan Das Holdings Limited. This car was purchased on 16 October 2023 and Hemant Soren used the car during his Delhi tour. After the recovery of the car, ED's suspicions deepened that there was some connection between the two, after which it decided to interrogate Sahu.

Immense wealth was found from Dheeraj Sahu's house

ED wants to know why Dheeraj Sahu gifted a car worth lakhs of rupees to Hemant Soren? What is the reason behind such deep relations between the two leaders? ED is busy making inquiries to know the answers to some similar questions. Dheeraj Sahu is the same Congress leader from whose house huge assets worth billions of rupees were found in the Income Tax raid and the Income Tax Department had trouble counting the cash.

The Income Tax team had raided Dheeraj Sahu's locations in many other cities including Orissa. During this period, cash worth Rs 351 crore was found from his house. Along with this, documents related to huge assets were recovered. It took 10 days for the Income Tax team to count the cash and 40 machines were installed to count the notes. The machines became hot while counting the notes. Apart from this, 400 officers worked in different shifts.

BMW car is not Hemant Soren's - Dheeraj Sahu

Regarding the issue of getting a BMW car, Rajya Sabha MP Sahu said that this inquiry was about BMW. This is not an issue at all. The car does not belong to Hemant Soren. It belongs to someone else. Investigation is being done regarding the same. When he was asked if the BMW was his, he said it was a lie, it was not his car. Earlier, ED had said that it recovered cash worth more than Rs 36 lakh from the house of JMM leader Hemant Soren in Delhi. Besides, documents related to the ongoing investigation into alleged acquisition of land through 'fraudulent means' have also been recovered. At present Soren is in ED custody.
