Dr. Swaminathan also said that all countries have shown low figures. The actual number is something else. Governments should show real figures. A day before this, WHO had described the Indian variant B.1617 found last year in the country as a matter of concern for the whole world. This variant is highly contagious.

This variant is placed in the worrying category

Dr. WHO joins Kovid-19 technical team at WHO. Maria van Kerkhov said on Monday that the B.1617 variants found in India were previously placed in the monitored category. The organization is constantly monitoring the information related to the transition from this variant. Many studies are being done about the spread of this virus in many countries including India. Due to the information available about the variant and its highly contagious, it has been placed in the category of worrying variants.
