In separate incidents in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, 15 people died due to drowning yesterday during Ganesh Visarjan. Six people died due to drowning while idols of Lord Ganesh were immersed in Haryana's Mahendragarh and Sonipat districts on Friday evening.

Four youths drowned in canal in Mahendragarh while two drowned in Yamuna river in Sonipat. Let us tell you that in Mahendragarh, nine youths were washed away when a group carrying a seven-foot idol for immersion was washed away in a stream of water in the canal. The district administration started the rescue operation with the help of NDRF. Four died in this incident, others were saved.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has tweeted that the news of untimely death of many people due to drowning during Ganpati immersion in Mahendragarh and Sonipat districts is heart-wrenching. "We all stand with the families of the deceased in this difficult time. The NDRF team has saved many people from drowning. I pray for their speedy recovery," Khattar said.

9 people died in Uttar Pradesh

The news of the death of nine people is coming to the fore during Ganesh Visarjan in different districts of Uttar Pradesh. Three youths died in Unnao, four in Sant Kabir Nagar, two in Lalitpur.

Talking about Unnao, two children died immediately due to drowning here. The third child was declared brought dead in the hospital during treatment. According to the information, the children had gone to immerse the idols of Lord Ganesha in the Ganges river. During this five children started drowning in the Ganges river. All of a sudden they had gone deep into the water. People present on the spot rescued the children. However, by then Dau had died.

4 children died due to drowning in the river in Sant Kabirnagar

The second incident is of Sant Kabirnagar. The matter of death of 4 children is coming out due to drowning in Aami river. These children had gone to the river bank to immerse the puja material. They all suddenly went into deep water and drowned. Later, with the help of divers, the bodies of the four children were fished out.
