Punjab / 2 killed, several injured after blast in Punjab’s Ludhiana court

Two people were killed in an explosion in District Court Complex in Ludhiana, Punjab on Thursday. Several people were injured in the explosion. An advocate said the blast occurred inside the public washroom on the second floor. Police have cordoned off the area and fire tenders are on the spot, reports said.

LUDHIANA: At least two persons were killed while many others were feared injured in an explosion that took place in Ludhiana district court complex in Punjab on Thursday.

The explosion took place in the wash room of the second floor of the court complex, PTI quoted police as saying.

The district court was functioning when the explosion took place.

Police have cordoned off the area.

Fire tenders are on the spot.

The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.

Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi said he would visit Ludhiana to take stock of situation.

Former CM Capt Amarinder Singh also expressed grief over the incident.
