The three terrorists who were neutralised by security forces during encounter have been identified to be affiliated with the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), police said on Friday.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that three AK 56 rifles were recovered from the terrorists. One of the three killed terrorists has been identified as Waseem hailing from Srinagar City, said the IGP.

Earlier on Thursday, a joint team of the police and the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists.

As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where the terrorists were hiding, they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.
