Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani suddenly resigned from the post a year before the elections. BJP has called a meeting of the legislature party in Gandhinagar today to elect a new leader. Before this meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Ahmedabad. Here, party MLAs have also been instructed to reach Ahmedabad.

The names of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Purushottam Rupala, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and Gujarat BJP President CR Patil are in the race for the new CM. Among them, Mandaviya is being told in the forefront. Mansukh Mandaviya and Nitin Patel reached the BJP office in Gandhinagar on Saturday afternoon.

After resigning from the post of Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani said in a conversation with the media that now I will discharge whatever new responsibility I get.

Rupani said – I have fulfilled my responsibility

Talking to the media, he said that the responsibilities in the party keep changing with time. This is a natural process in the BJP. I got the responsibility of Chief Minister for 5 years, which I have fulfilled. Now the development of Gujarat should continue under the new leadership.

It is believed that the assembly elections to be held next year are behind this change. Changing the Chief Minister will reduce the displeasure of the public and will create some hope. This will help in winning the next election.

Congress said- Gujarat government running from remote control of Delhi

On Rupani's resignation, Gujarat Congress working president and Patidar leader Hardik Patel has said that the Gujarat government is being run by remote control of Delhi. There was resentment among the people due to the chaos and failure in Corona. In such a situation, BJP is misleading the people by changing the CM. He has done the same in Uttarakhand.

Rupani said - will fight the 2022 elections under the leadership of Modi ji

Rupani said that the guidance of JP Nadda ji has also been phenomenal for me. Now whatever responsibility I get, I will discharge it. We say responsibility not position. I have fulfilled the responsibility that was given to me. We fight the state elections under the leadership of Narendra Modi ji and the 2022 elections will also be fought under his leadership.

Let us tell you that Rupani was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the second time on 26 December 2017. The BJP won a majority in the 2017 elections in Gujarat by winning 99 out of 182 seats. Then Rupani was elected as the leader of the legislature party and Nitin Patel as the deputy leader. Rupani is currently the MLA from Rajkot (West) seat.

Speculation of change of leadership was going on for the past few days

For the past few days, there was speculation about a change of leadership in the Gujarat government. Union Home Minister Amit Shah suddenly reached Ahmedabad at around 8 pm on Thursday night. There was no fixed schedule for his visit to Gujarat. State Home Minister Pradeep Singh Jadeja, Mayor Kirit Parmar and Standing Committee Chairman Hitesh Barot had arrived to welcome Amit Shah at the airport.

Although Amit Shah had reached his sister's house on Thursday night, it was thought that he might have come for family work, but now it seems that he may have reached Gujarat only in connection with the change in power.

4 Chief Ministers changed in BJP ruled states in 3 months

Vijay Rupani has become the fourth chief minister in three months to resign in BJP-ruled states. In July, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa was replaced. Then in July itself, the Chief Minister was changed twice in Uttarakhand. The command was given to Tirath Singh in place of Trivendra Rawat and then to Pushkar Singh Dhami in his place.
