'No point in boycott'

On Monday, Akshay Kumar reached Kolkata in connection with the promotion of the film where he spoke to the media. He said that there is no point in boycotting films in a free country like India because cinema as an industry also contributes to nation building. Akshay said, 'If you think that you should not watch the film, then do not watch it. It is a free country so if anyone wants to see it or not, it is up to him.

Akshay further said, 'I want to tell you that any industry, be it textile industry, film industry or any other, the economy gets help from everyone. There is no point in doing all these boycott-like things.' The actor said, 'We want to make our country bigger and great so I would just request them not to get involved in it. I would also request you (journalists) not to get into all this. It will be good for our country.

Let us tell you that 'Raksha Bandhan' will be released in theaters on August 11. The film is directed by Aanand L Rai. Apart from Akshay, it also stars Saadia Khatib, Shahzamin Kaur, Deepika Khanna and Smriti Shrikant who play Akshay's sisters. Akshay's opposite Bhumi Pednekar is in the film.
