Delhi Liquor Scam: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's troubles are not ending. He appeared in Rouse Avenue Court today in the money laundering case related to the liquor scam. Where, the court has sent Kejriwal to judicial custody for 14 days. Earlier, after the hearing was completed, the court had reserved its decision on the CBI's petition seeking judicial custody.Kejriwal's CBI remand was ending today. CBI had arrested him on June 26. After this, the court sent him to CBI custody for three days. CBI had sought 5 days custody of CM Kejriwal from Rouse Avenue Court, but the agency got only 3 days remand from the court. Kejriwal was granted bail by the trial court on June 20 in the money laundering case related to the liquor scam. The Enforcement Directorate challenged this decision of the lower court in the Delhi High Court. The High Court put an interim stay on the decision of the trial court.Arvind Kejriwal's lawyer Rishi Kumar said that the bail application will be moved in the court on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal on Monday or Tuesday. Arvind Kejriwal will be produced in the court again on July 12.The court accepted two demands of KejriwalDuring the hearing, Kejriwal's lawyer presented two applications before the court. In the first, it was demanded that Kejriwal be allowed to meet his family for 10 to 15 minutes till the judge writes the order. In the second, when Kejriwal was sent to judicial custody after his arrest in the ED case, the exemption he was getting on medical grounds should be continued further. The court has accepted both the demands.What did the CBI say?In the application seeking judicial custody given to the Rouse Avenue Court, the CBI has said that Arvind Kejriwal is not cooperating in the investigation and is deliberately avoiding giving direct answers to questions. The CBI says that Kejriwal is a prominent political person, he can influence the investigation.The CBI said that Kejriwal could not even explain why during the second wave of Covid, Cabinet approval for the revised excise policy was obtained in a hurry within 1 day, while the accused persons of the South Group were camping in Delhi and holding meetings. That too with his close associate Vijay Nair.The CBI says that Kejriwal also kept avoiding questions asked regarding Nair and Nair's meetings with various stakeholders.Arrest before hearing in SC, what did the wife say?The CBI arrested Kejriwal just before the hearing in the Supreme Court. On Kejriwal's arrest, his wife Sunita Kejriwal said that Arvind Kejriwal got bail on June 20. Immediately the ED got a stay. The very next day the CBI made him an accused and then arrested him. The entire system is trying to ensure that Kejriwal does not come out of jail. This is not law. This is dictatorship, emergency.Delhi HC did not grant bail to KejriwalThe Delhi High Court did not grant bail to Kejriwal on June 25. The court maintained the stay on bail. The High Court said in its order that the trial court has not addressed the conditions of bail under section 45 of the PMLA Act. The lower court did not look at the ED's document. ED was not given a chance to argue. The trial court did not pay attention to section 70 of PMLA. Did not pay attention to the record. The allegations need to be properly considered.AAP's protest against the arrest todayAam Aadmi Party (AAP) will protest nationwide today against the arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal. The party says that the BJP's central government is misusing all central investigation agencies for its political purposes. BJP wants to keep Kejriwal in jail by any means, so that he stays away from the elections. The party said that when BJP felt that Arvind Kejriwal was going to get bail from the Supreme Court, then it brought the CBI forward. A huge protest will be held against BJP regarding Kejriwal's arrest.
