The Supreme Court accepted his plea for change in bail conditions in the corruption and money laundering charges related to the excise policy case. Under the earlier bail conditions, Sisodia had to appear in the office of investigating agencies twice every week. However, now the Supreme Court has removed this condition on Sisodia's request, giving him a big relief.

Manish Sisodia was granted bail

The Supreme Court heard Manish Sisodia's bail plea on 11 December 2024. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi had appealed for a change in Sisodia's bail conditions before a bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Vishwanathan. The court had granted bail to Sisodia in the cases related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam in August 2024 when it was felt that there was a possibility of speedy trial in the case and he could not be kept behind bars for an unlimited time. The court had said that after getting bail, Sisodia will have to regularly participate in the judicial process, and for this he will have to follow the bail conditions.

Serious allegations in the excise policy case

Let us tell you that in this case related to the liquor policy scam, there are allegations of corruption and money laundering against Sisodia. Both ED and CBI are investigating agencies involved in this case. There are names of 493 witnesses in this case and thousands of pages of documents and more than one lakh pages of digitized documents. The case may take time due to the investigation of these documents and the statements of witnesses, and keeping this in mind, the court granted bail to Sisodia.
