India / Assam govt lifts weekend lockdown, night curfew in new guidelines

The Assam government has lifted the weekend lockdown and night curfew in the state, Chief Secretary, Kumar Sanjay Krishna said. "Adhere to all the COVID-19 protocols to keep yourself and others safe," he tweeted. However, lockdown restrictions will continue in containment zones. "The measures will remain in force till midnight of September 30," Krishna said in an official notice.

Dispur: The Assam government has lifted weekend lockdown and night curfew. Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna has said this in a tweet.

He however appealed the people to follow all the Covid-19 protocols.  Earlier, the state government declared Saturday and Sunday lockdown across the state and night curfew in all the days.

Students of classes 9 to 12 are allowed to visit schools on a voluntary basis with written consent from parents for guidance from teachers.

Higher educational institutions are allowed to operate only for research and unavoidable laboratory and experimental work only on issue of necessary guidelines by the department of Higher Education.

Mr. Krishna said that public transport will be allowed to operate from September 7 with strict compliance of social distancing and other Covid-19 safety measures.
