BCB: The impact of the recent coup in Bangladesh has also started showing on the country's cricket. Due to political instability, the hosting of the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup is likely to shift to another country, due to which the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) may face huge losses.

The board's cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus has resigned from his post in this environment. He described the decision to part ways with the board as "in the interest of cricket". Jalal, who was also a director of the BCB, has become the first prominent member to resign after the change of the current government. BCB President Nazmul Hasan has also expressed his willingness to resign from his post in the interest of cricket and cooperate with the new government.

Amid this turmoil, the Bangladesh cricket team has reached Pakistan tour, where they will play a 2-match Test series from August 21. The first match will be held in Rawalpindi, while the second Test will be played there from August 30. The Bangladesh team will then tour India, where they will play 2 Tests and 3 T20Is from September 19.

The current instability in Bangladesh is having a profound impact not only on cricket but also on the overall situation in the country, which is likely to lead to more changes in the coming days.

Jalal said this

Jalal, who is also a director of the board, confirmed this to Cricbuzz on Monday. Jalal said that he has resigned from the board in the interest of cricket. He is the first director to resign from the current board, which has been under scrutiny since the change of government on August 5 following student protests that forced the Awami League government to resign. Changes are expected in the board in the future as BCB president Nazmul Hasan has also expressed his willingness to resign from his post in the interest of cricket and cooperate with the government.
