IND vs NZ: The first match of the much-awaited Test series between India and New Zealand could not start due to rain. The match was to be played in Bengaluru from October 16, but the rain affected the entire day's play. Due to the constantly bad weather, neither the toss could take place nor a single ball could be bowled. However, the rain stopped in between, but not for long enough to dry the ground and start the game. The umpires inspected the ground several times, but the conditions were not suitable for play.The time of play on the second day was changedThe game on the first day was completely ruined due to rain, but the match officials have decided to change the time of play on the next day i.e. Thursday. On the second day, the match will start 15 minutes earlier than the previously scheduled time to compensate for the overs wasted on the first day.Now on Thursday, the first session of the game will start at 9:15 am and will go on till 11:30 am. After the lunch break, the second session will start at 12:10 pm and will go on till 14:25 pm. The third and final session will be played from 14:45 pm to 16:45 pm. The match officials are aiming to play at least 98 overs on the second day to make up for the loss of overs on the first day.Toss could not take place on the first dayThe first day's play was scheduled to begin with a toss at 9:00 am but it was not possible due to rain. The umpires inspected the ground but the conditions were not playable. On the second day, however, the match will start 15 minutes earlier and an additional 15 minutes will be added to each session to make maximum use of the time. Test cricket usually has 90 overs played in a day but an attempt will be made to have 98 overs on Thursday.Uncertainty over Bengaluru weatherHowever, the chances of the game going ahead depend on the weather. The weather in Bengaluru is still not completely clear and there is a possibility of rain on Thursday as well. If the weather is clear, the match can start, but there is no guarantee of Bengaluru's weather. In such a situation, both fans and players are hoping that the game can continue without any hindrance on the second day and the match can start.Revised time of the second day
