New Delhi: The central government has withdrawn the advisory issued regarding the Aadhar card. The Ministry of Electronics and IT gave this information by issuing a press release. Giving clarification on this matter, the government said that, in view of the possibility of misinterpretation of the press release issued on the use of Aadhar card, it is withdrawn with immediate effect.

Earlier, the Center had issued an advisory on the use of Aadhaar, appealing citizens to share only masked copies of Aadhaar cards with anyone to prevent misuse of their Aadhaar numbers. In which the last 4 numbers of the Aadhar card are entered. But there was a debate about this advice of this government. Therefore, keeping in mind all kinds of misinterpretations, the government withdrew this advisory.

The government has said that the holders of the Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI are only advised to exercise common sense in sharing and using their Aadhaar number.

The Center said that the Aadhaar Identity Authentication ecosystem has provided adequate features to protect the identity and privacy of the Aadhaar holder.

Earlier, the government had warned citizens not to unnecessarily share photocopies of Aadhaar cards and not to use public computers in cyber cafes to download Aadhaar cards. The advisory to citizens said that, if you do so please ensure that you permanently delete all downloaded copies of e-Aadhaar from that computer.
