The biggest loss has been in the Kuned Panchayat of the development block Mahela. Roads have been broken due to floods after torrential rains and water has filled the houses of the people.

Dehradun: There have been reports of heavy damage due to cloudburst in Chamoli in Uttarakhand and Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. The biggest loss has been in the Kuned Panchayat of the development block Mahela. Roads have been broken due to floods after torrential rains and water has filled the houses of the people. The vehicles standing on the way are buried under the rubble.

Wheat-maize crop destroyed

Officials said dozens of villages in Ploor, Kilod and Kuned panchayats have been affected by the torrential rains. While the wheat crop in Loni, Dalotha, Banni and Kuned villages has been damaged, the recently harvested maize crop has also been completely destroyed. Chamba Bharmour National Highway has also been blocked at many places. However, the Public Works Department is fully involved in road restoration.

Electricity and water problems may occur in villages

Local people of the village said that the late night rains had increased the water level of the river and drains, due to which water entered their homes at many places. He said that if there is no crate work done by the government in time, then the villages inhabited on both sides may suffer damage. At the same time, Manoj, Deputy Principal of Gram Panchayat Ploor said that due to heavy rains in his village, the electricity department and the water power department have also suffered a lot.
