Jammu And Kashmir: An army officer has been martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. The name of the officer is Colonel Manpreet Singh. He was posted in 19 Rashtriya Rifles and was the commanding officer. This is the first incident in Jammu and Kashmir since 2020 in which a commanding officer has lost his life. Let us tell you that the encounter took place in Kokernag area of Anantnag district. Colonel Manpreet and a policeman were seriously injured while fighting the terrorists. A police officer said that the encounter between the terrorists hiding in Gadole area and the security forces started on Wednesday morning. So far two terrorists have been killed in the encounter. An army soldier and a sniffer dog were martyred in this encounter. Apart from this, three police officers were also injured.
