Chinese Rocket Landing: The next few hours are very important for Chinese rockets heading towards Earth. China's Long March 5B heavy-lift carrier rocket is likely to fall into the Pacific Ocean. A 21-tonne giant rocket from China has gone uncontrolled into space and is now heading towards Earth. According to the latest forecasts by the US Air Force, this information has been revealed. The second phase of the spacecraft is estimated to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere at about 52.5 GMT on May 9 (Sunday), according to estimates published by Space-TrackDotorG.

It is not far from New Zealand in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean. Earlier it was anticipated that the rocket would re-enter the Earth's atmosphere between 1.11 AM and 19:11 GMT on May 8 in the second phase. Russia's Roscosmos Space Agency said on Friday that the second phase of the Long March 5B heavy-lift launch vehicle was expected to enter Earth's atmosphere in the Pacific Ocean on May 9.

Experts have warned that if a Chinese rocket hits a populated area on Earth, massive catastrophe may occur. It is feared that the debris of this rocket may fall anywhere in cities like New York, Madrid and Beijing. The rocket was launched from China's Wenchang rocket launch site on April 29.

No need to worry: China

However, Chinese scientists have said that people need not worry, as most of its parts would have been burnt as soon as they came into orbit of the earth. The parts that are left will be made of material with melting point, but they will also fall in some deserted area or ocean. 75 percent of the earth is full of water and in the remaining 25 percent most areas are deserted, so the risk of harm to people is very low.

Incidents have already happened before:

This is not the first time that an out of control rocket is going to fall on Earth, but it can be the most dangerous. Since 1990, nothing like this weighing more than 10 tons has fallen on the earth. In May 2020, a Chinese rocket fell to earth. Most of its debris fell into the Atlantic Ocean. Some part of it had also fallen on Ivory Coast. If only a few minutes were here and there, it could have caused havoc in New York.
