India-Pakistan Relations: The team of ATS Gujarat, NCB and Indian Coast Guard has carried out a major operation. Actually, the joint team has seized the consignment of drugs coming from Pakistan. Indian Court Guards have seized 86 kg of drugs worth Rs 600 crore from a Pakistani boat off the Gujarat coast. Along with this, 14 persons have been arrested. The Coast Guard team has given this information on Sunday.Joint team formedActually, ATS Gujarat Police had received information from a confidential source that a foreign boat was coming into Indian waters with more than 100 kg of narcotics and 10-15 foreign nationals. Continuing the trend of inter-agency joint operations, a joint team comprising NCB Headquarters Operating Unit and ATS Gujarat was formed. A request for assistance was made to the Indian Coast Guard which was promptly responded to.Suspicious boat seen west of PorbandarDue to the rapid development at sea, the nearest available teams of Gujarat ATS boarded the Indian Coast Guard ship and proceeded towards the given exchange point. On 26 April, a suspicious boat was spotted in Indian waters west of Porbandar and intercepted. Meanwhile, a joint team of NCB and ATS Gujarat Police reached the interception point with the help of another coast guard ship and boarded the main ship.86 kg of drugs seizedAll persons on board the boat and cargo were taken into custody and brought safely to Porbandar for verification. A test was conducted at the port by the NCB using drug detection kits, which tested positive for heroin and methamphetamine. All 14 Pakistani nationals have been detained along with about 86 kg of drugs and a foreign boat. Seizure formalities are going on.
