New Delhi : After the presidential election, now the trumpet has been sounded for the vice president's election as well. The Election Commission on Wednesday announced the dates for the election of the Vice President. Voting for the Vice Presidential election will be held on 6 August 2022 and the results will also come on the same day. The tenure of current Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu ends on August 11.Notification for the Vice Presidential election will be issued on July 5. At the same time, the last date for nomination will be 19 July 2022. After this, the scrutiny of candidates will be done on July 20. At the same time, the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be July 22.If help is needed for the presidential election, then votes will be cast for it on 6 August. The polling time will be from 10 am to 5 pm. Counting of votes will also be done on the day of polling and results will be declared.How is the Vice President elected?Members of both houses of Parliament participate in the presidential election. Nominated MPs can also cast their vote this election. In this way, apart from 233 elected members of Rajya Sabha and 12 nominated members, 543 elected members of Lok Sabha and two nominated members vote in this election. However, this does not happen in presidential elections. In it, the members of both the houses as well as the MLAs vote.
