An encounter has started between terrorists and security forces in Kulgam area of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the news agency ANI, the police and the army have kept the front.
Yesterday morning terrorists attacked and killed a policeman. The policeman, who was seriously injured in the attack, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital late in the evening during treatment. He was posted as a driver in the police control room helpline 112. After the incident, a search operation was launched in the surrounding areas, but the terrorists were not found.
Police said that the incident happened at 8.50 am. Constable Ghulam Hassan, who was going on a bike, was shot dead by terrorists near Aiwa bridge in Safakadal area. He fell from the bike as soon as he was shot. Thereafter the terrorists fled from the spot. The blood-soaked policeman was immediately rushed to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), where he succumbed to his injuries late in the evening during treatment.
After the incident, senior officers of various security forces reached the spot and got information. Simultaneously, a search operation was carried out by encircling the surrounding areas. Security cordon was strengthened in the entire area.
