The Health Minister said that samples of 19 people from Thiruvananthapuram have been sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune and the report is awaited. Of these, 13 people, including doctors and health workers, are suspected to be infected.

According to the information, the infected woman is a resident of Paraslane in Thiruvananthapuram district. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here. She gave birth to a child on July 7. The woman was admitted to the hospital on June 28 after developing fever, headache and red spots on her body. After the test, the woman has been confirmed to have Zika virus. However, the condition of the woman is stable now.

The woman has no travel history. His house is located on the Tamil Nadu border. A week ago, his mother also showed similar symptoms.

Zika virus is spread by mosquitoes. Symptoms of being infected with Zika virus are similar to those of dengue, such as fever, body rashes and joint pain.
