Dr. Lakshmi Narasimhamurthy, president of the Bhutayi Trust and American doctor Dr. Lakshmi Narasimhamurthy, a delegation led by Minister in-charge of Mandya district Cheluvaraya Swamy, met Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday. The delegation discussed about Barack Obama's visit to Mandya in December. Former US President Barack Obama and Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama will arrive in December to lay the foundation stone of an international yoga and meditation center being built by the trust at Hallagere in Mandya.

It is noteworthy that during PM Modi's recent US visit, former US President Obama had given a statement regarding freedom of religion in India. On this he appeared surrounded in his own country. People from India also surrounded him on social media. Indian cabinet ministers also strongly attacked him.

Obama had to face these responses on his statement

India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had launched a scathing attack on Obama by questioning the bombing of 6 Muslim countries. On the other hand, today Defense Minister of India Rajnath Singh had said that Obama should not forget that India is the only country which considers all the people living in the world as family members. Johnny Moore, former head of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, reacted strongly to Obama's remarks.

He took the oath of office as President on January 20, 2009. He remained President till 20 January 2017. He visited India during his tenure.
