Former Zimbabwean cricketer Heath Streak passed away on Sunday. His wife informed about this through a post on social media. Heath Streak was battling cancer for a long time. A few days back rumors of Heath Streak's demise had surfaced. This news was given by former Zimbabwean cricketer Henry Olanga, but later Olanga had told this news wrong and said that Heath Streak is alive.

His wife has told that on September 3, Heath Streak died in the early morning. Former Zimbabwean cricketer John Rainey has also confirmed this. He told Sportstar that Heath Streak died on his farm in Matabeleland.

Heath Streak is counted among the great cricketers of Zimbabwe. He had the power to turn matches with both bat and ball. Heath Streak played 65 test matches for Zimbabwe and scored 1990 runs at an average of 22.35. He has also taken 216 wickets in his name in Tests. Talking about ODI, Heath Streak has scored 2943 runs and taken 239 wickets. After retirement, he also did coaching. He was the coach of Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. Apart from this, he had also coached in IPL. He was also included in the coaching staff of Kolkata Knight Riders, the two-time winner of IPL. Apart from this, he played the role of bowling coach of Gujarat Lions.
