Team India New Coach: Who will be the new head coach of Team India, this question has been on everyone's lips for the last one month. After the T20 World Cup 2024, the tenure of the current coach of the team, Rahul Dravid, is ending and he is not ready to extend it, so the BCCI is looking for a new coach. The names of many veterans came up in this race, but the name of former Team India star opener Gautam Gambhir is at the forefront, under whose mentor Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL 2024 title. Now in this matter, Gambhir has given a statement openly for the first time, which indicates that he is sure to become the coach.

BCCI had announced last month that the head coach of Team India will be changed after the T20 World Cup. However, then the board secretary Jay Shah had clarified that the current coach Rahul Dravid can also apply again. The board had set a deadline of May 27 for the application. According to reports, Dravid is not ready to become the coach again but during this time, there were talks of contact with legends like Ricky Ponting, Justin Langer, Stephen Fleming. Out of these, the board denied the contact with Ponting-Langer.

Gambhir spoke for the first time on becoming the coach

Apart from all this, there were talks of contact with Gambhir but BCCI never denied it and neither did Gambhir say anything on this. Now for the first time, Gambhir has given a direct answer in his own precise style to the direct question asked about the coach of Team India. After making KKR the IPL champion, Gambhir, who is holidaying in Abu Dhabi, expressed his desire to become the coach of Team India during an event here and said that he would like to do so.

A child forced him

Gautam Gambhir, who remained silent on this issue till now, finally had to answer this question and the reason for this was a child. According to a PTI report, during the event, a student asked Gambhir about becoming the coach of Team India and winning the World Cup. Gambhir said that till now he was avoiding answering these questions but this time he was forced to.

The former star opener of Team India said that he would like to coach Team India because there is no bigger honour than becoming the coach of your country's team. Gambhir called it a representation of 140 crore Indians and Indians living abroad. He said that when 140 crore Indians pray, they will help India win the World Cup. He said that to win the World Cup, it is most important to play without fear.
