Rana Sanga Controversy: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has recently shared a video in which Karni Sena workers are seen attacking the house of Samajwadi Party MP Ramjilal Suman. Through this video, Akhilesh Yadav has made serious allegations against the Yogi government and administration of the state. He wrote in his caption, "The accused themselves have revealed the collusion of the government and administration in the vandalism incident in Agra, what more proof do you need, Chief Minister? Now will you get this report changed as well?"

Background of the attack

The roots of this attack are hidden in a statement given by Samajwadi Party MP Ramjilal Suman in the Rajya Sabha. Giving historical reference, he had said that Rana Sanga had invited Babar to Hindustan. After this statement of his, Karni Sena got angry and attacked his house. Karni Sena workers reached his residence with bulldozers and vandalized the house. During this, the glass of vehicles was broken, stones were pelted and violence was instigated.

Root of the controversy: Calling Rana Sanga a 'traitor'

Ramji Lal Suman had made a statement in the Rajya Sabha on March 21, 2025, in which he termed Rana Sanga a 'traitor' and said that he had a role in bringing Babur to India. Suman said, "Babur was invited by Rana Sanga to defeat Ibrahim Lodi. If Muslims are called descendants of Babur, then why are Hindus not descendants of Rana Sanga?" This statement caused outrage in many parts of the country including the Rajput community.

Karni Sena's anger: Attack and reward announced

In Agra, Karni Sena workers reached the MP's house with a bulldozer and demonstrated violently. Despite the presence of police, the situation went out of control in front of the number and aggression of the protesters. Earlier, in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal, the Karni Sena demonstrated outside the SP state office and burnt the effigy of Suman as well as SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. The organization also announced a reward against Suman, in which it was said that five lakh rupees will be given to the person who will smear his face with soot and hit him with shoes.

Karni Sena thanks the administration

In this viral video, the workers of Karni Sena can be heard saying, "Thanks to the administration, we protested, neither did we say anything to the administration nor did the administration say anything to us." This statement directly shows the inaction of the administration, due to which the Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties have accused the government of collusion. Akhilesh Yadav targeted the state government over this video and said that it seems as if the UP government is being run by someone else.

FIR registered, legal proceedings started

After the attack on Ramjilal Suman's house, his son Randeep Suman filed a case in Hari Parvat police station. He alleged that the mob attacked in a planned manner, used casteist words and looted. It is also stated in the FIR registered that during the attack, the windows of the vehicles were broken and cash and other items were looted. In this attack, many supporters of MP Suman have also suffered serious injuries.

Political reaction and further action

Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties have attacked the state government over this incident. The opposition alleges that the government is giving free hand to violent elements to suppress the opposition. At the same time, the state government has ordered an inquiry into the matter and assured strict action against the culprits.

This incident has again raised questions on the law and order of the state.
