BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has been elected as the head of the powerful Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee of the ICC. Explain that Barclay's tenure will be of two years.

Greg Barclay elected ICC chairman for the second time

In addition to Barclay, Zimbabwe's Tawengwa Mukuhalani was also in the race for the first chairman's post, who later withdrew, allowing Barclay to be elected unopposed. "It is an honor to be re-elected as Chairman of the International Cricket Council and I would like to thank my fellow ICC Directors for their support," Barclay said on his re-appointment.

Jai Shah became the head of the Committee on Finance and Commercial Affairs.

Barkley was made the ICC chairman in November 2020. He was previously the chairman of New Zealand Cricket and the director of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2015. He was elected unopposed which means he also had the support of the BCCI in the 17-member board. The Shah of India will have the key to the vault of the ICC

An ICC source told PTI on the condition of anonymity, “Every member has accepted Jay Shah as the head of the finance and commercial affairs committee. Apart from the ICC chairman, it is an equally powerful sub-committee. The finance and commercial affairs committee is always headed by an ICC board member and Shah's election makes it clear that he will represent the BCCI on the ICC board.

The post of the head of this committee used to be with India during the era of N Srinivasan but during the tenure of Shashank Manohar as the ICC chairman, the strength of the BCCI was greatly reduced. Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was a member of this committee till last year.
