The health department has appealed to the people not to panic and contact the doctor immediately if any suspicious symptoms are seen. Officials also informed that all measures have been taken for the treatment and isolation of potential patients. Experts believe that HMPV infection mainly affects children and individuals with weak immune systems.

Symptoms and risks of infection

The initial symptoms of HMPV infection can be like cold, cough and fever. If not treated on time, it can turn into serious respiratory problems.
