Farmers protesting three controversial farm laws will celebrate India's 75th Independence Day as "Kisan Mazdoor Azaadi Sangram Diwas".

After Samyukt Kisan Morcha issued a national appeal, farmers across the country will hold block-level tiranga and tehsil rallies to mark this day. However, the farmers stressed that they would not enter Delhi.

AIKSCC (All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordinating Committee) stated that on August 15, Samyukt Kisan Morcha asked all voters to mark this day as Kisan Mazdoor Azaadi Sangram Diwas and organize a tirade march on that day.

On that day, farmers and workers will bring tractors, motorcycles, bicycles and carts to the block, tehsil, regional headquarters or their nearest Kisan morchas or dharnas in the tiranga parade. He added that the national flags will be displayed on the vehicles during these parades.

Another farmer leader, Abhimanyu Kohar, said the rally will take place across the country from 11 am to 1 pm.

On the border of Delhi, including Singh, Tikri and Ghazipur, there will also be parades and tricolour shows throughout the day. In Singh, peasant leader Jagmohan Singh said that peasants will travel about 8 kilometres from the main stage at the protest site to the KMP road. Their vehicles have three colours and the flags of their respective agricultural unions.

Tricolour flag will also be hung on farmers' jhopdis at these protest locations, he added. The peasant leader emphasized that the tyranny demonstration on August 15 will be peaceful and far away from Delhi. The parade will be held across the country but at the tehsil and group level. Kohar said that they will be peaceful, and we have repeatedly clarified that we have no plan to enter Delhi.

The events of January 26th affected our movement, so the tiranga parade on August 15th will not enter any city, but our agitation will not stop until our request is met, Singh added. Singh said that the long parade on Independence Day will reiterate farmers' demand for the repeal of three controversial laws and how the government has not provided support to farmers even after they protested for more than eight months.

Through this rally, we want to emphasize the requirements we have been striving for. A border speaker on August 15 will discuss these three laws and why they should be repealed. The rally was also to show how the government did not back down and comply with farmers' demands, Singh said.
