BRICS Meeting / 'India will become the growth engine of the world' - PM Modi said at BRICS Business Forum

BRICS Meeting: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day tour of South Africa to attend the BRICS summit. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi addressed the BRICS Business Forum. Prime Minister Modi's address was in Hindi language. During this, PM Modi mentioned the global situation of India and the help done by India in recovering from the Corona period. PM Modi said that BRICS has played an important role in increasing our economic cooperation in the last 10 years.

He said that in 2009 the world was coming out of a major economic crisis and then BRICS emerged as a ray of hope. Now once again the world is emerging from the economic crisis caused by the pandemic and tension and now once again the role of BRICS has again become important. PM Modi said that soon India will become a 5 trillion economy and in the coming days India will become the growth engine of the world.

World's largest number of digital payments happening in India: Modi

From the platform of BRICS, Prime Minister Modi said that India is leading in the field of digitalization and especially digital payments. PM Modi also mentioned about the payments being made through UPI in India on this platform. PM Modi said that today India is the largest digital payment country in the world. He said that there are many possibilities to work on this by joining with BRICS countries.

He said that work is being done on rail, road and speed in India. PM Modi told that the number of airports has doubled in the last 9 years. Road network is being laid in the country at manifold speed. PM Modi also talked about India's inclusion in the leading countries in renewable energy. PM Modi also talked about the third largest startup ecosystem in India and having more than 100 unicorns in the country.

PM Modi mentioned the contribution of women in development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mentioned the contribution of women in the development of the country from the platform of BRICS Business Forum. He said that from business to space sector, women are working shoulder to shoulder with men in India. PM Modi said the role of women in rural areas is also important in the development of the country.

From the stage of BRICS Business Forum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India is working on the goal of becoming a developed country by 2047. During this, PM Modi urged the countries and organizations involved in the BRICS Business Forum to participate in India's development story.
