G20 Summit In India: India is going to preside over the G-20 meeting which will start at the end of 2022. India will chair the G-20 from 1 December to 30 November 2023. This presidency is expected to host more than 200 G20 meetings across the country. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has given this information by issuing a statement today.The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the summit of the leaders of the G-20 countries at the level of Heads of State and Government is going to be held in New Delhi on 9 and 10 September 2023. The G-20 or Group of 20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world's major developed and developing economies. It includes 19 countries.Which ten are included?The countries that are included in the G-20 are as follows- Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, USA and European Union. Collectively, the G20 accounts for 85 percent of global GDP, 75 percent of international trade, and two-thirds of the world's population, making it a major platform for international economic cooperation.The G20 currently comprises 8 workstreams.The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) said that the current 8 work streams are included in the G-20. These include (Global Macroeconomic Policy, Infrastructure Financing, International Financial Architecture, Sustainable Finance, Financial Inclusion, Health Finance, International Taxation, Financial Sector Reforms with Finance Track, Sherpa Track).
