IND vs SA: India and South Africa, the two favorite teams to win the ODI World Cup, will compete today i.e. on 5th November. The match will start at 2:00 pm at Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. India won the toss and decided to bat. There has been no change in the team. Both the teams are at first and second position in the points table after the end of 36 matches of the league stage. Both teams have qualified for the semi-finals. India has 14 points and South Africa has 12 points. In such a situation, the team that wins today's match will remain at number-1 position and can also finish the league stage at this position.

India is the only unbeaten team in the tournament, having won 7 out of 7 matches. On the other hand, South Africa has won 6 out of 7 matches and lost only one.

India can score a hat-trick of wins over South Africa

The teams of India and South Africa faced each other for the first time in the 1992 ODI World Cup, when India was defeated. From then till 2011, both faced each other thrice in the World Cup, South Africa won all three matches. Whereas in 2015 and 2019, both faced each other in 2 matches and Team India won every time. That means, after winning today's match, Team India will score a hat-trick of wins over South Africa in the tournament.

South Africa remained dominant in head-to-head

90 matches were played between the two teams in ODI. India won in 37 and South Africa won in 50. Three matches also remained no result. The two last clashed in India during October last year. India won that 3-match series 2-1.
