Jay Shah became the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2019. Jay Shah has served in the BCCI for about 6 years. The Champions Trophy 2025 will be organized during Jay Shah's tenure in the ICC. According to the schedule, this tournament is to be played in Pakistan. Jay Shah became the youngest person to become ICC Chairman

Jay Shah is not the first Indian person to reach the top post in the ICC. Before him, four Indians have been the Chairman/President of the ICC. Which includes the names of Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan and Shashank Manohar. Jagmohan Dalmiya has been the chairman of ICC from 1997 to 2000, Sharad Pawar from 2010 to 2012, N Srinivasan from 2014 to 2015 and Shashank Manohar from 2015 to 2020.
