Kia India Price Hike: Kia Motors entered the Indian market in the year 2019 with its Seltos SUV. One by one the company has launched 5 vehicles in India. Kia India's portfolio includes models such as the Sonnet, Seltos, Carens, Carnival and the EV6. In January, from Maruti to Tata and Mercedes, have announced an increase in the price of their vehicles. In this sequence, the name of Kia India has also been added to the list. Kia is going to increase the prices of its cars by up to 50 thousand rupees. The reason for this is the strict emission norms going to be implemented from next year.

Kia Carens became expensive in November

Let us tell you that just after Diwali, Kia had increased the price of its 7 seater MPV car Kia Carens. At that time, the price of this MPV had increased by Rs 50 thousand. After the price increase, the price of its base variant had reached Rs 9.99 lakh and the price of top variant had reached Rs 17.99 lakh. Now from January onwards, it may be out of the sub 10 lakh category.

What are the new emission norms

In fact, after researching in the last few years, it has come to the fore that when any vehicle is tested before launch, its emissions are of a different level. While the vehicle starts emitting more when it is used. In such a situation, it starts harming the environment excessively.

To curb this, the Government of India is going to implement the Real Driving Emission (RDE) standard. Under this, car companies will have to install self-diagnostic devices in new cars. The emissions of the vehicle are continuously tracked through this device. This rule is already being used in many countries. In India, they will be implemented from April 1, 2023.
