Mayawati's big announcement

After the announcement of the Election Commission, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati said that her party will contest the elections alone in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. She said that the aim of BSP is that its supporters should connect with the principles of the party and the self-respect of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Mayawati also made it clear that her party will also contest the by-elections to be held on 9 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh on its own. The BSP chief appealed to her supporters to prepare for the elections with full force and stay away from any kind of distraction.

Demand for elections free from money power and muscle power

Welcoming the announcement of the dates of the Election Commission, Mayawati said that the more fair and corruption-free the elections are, the better it will be for democracy. She stressed that elections should be kept free from the influence of money power and muscle power, and the entire responsibility for this lies with the Election Commission. Referring to her party's election preparations, Mayawati said that BSP is determined to carry forward its mission and will enter the electoral fray with full force.

BSP's election strategy

This announcement by the BSP chief makes it clear that her party will not be a part of any alliance and will contest the elections on its own. This step by Mayawati has been taken in the direction of keeping the supporters of BSP organized and running a strong election campaign based on the principles of the party.

Thus, the strategy of BSP is to enter the election fray alone in this election season by following its principles. This announcement by Mayawati clearly shows the role of the party in the upcoming elections of Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
