During the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Mayawati refused to accept Akash Anand as her successor, calling him immature. However, just 47 days after this, in June 2024, she declared Akash Anand as her successor in the National Executive meeting. Then Akash Anand also took blessings by touching the feet of aunt Mayawati. But recent developments make it clear that there is still confusion about the leadership in the party.
