Demand expected to increase manifold

Manish Bandlish, Managing Director, Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd said, Summer is the most awaited season for our business, especially for categories like ice cream, curd and beverages. He said, with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting above normal temperatures and extreme heat this year, we are expecting a manifold increase in demand for these categories. Bandlish said that compared to last year, there is an increase in the sales of ice cream. He said that the company is fully prepared to deal with this increasing demand and has invested up to Rs 50 crore to ensure adequate availability of its products and to increase capacity.

20 new ice cream products will be included

“As we enter the season, we are all set to offer our consumers a range of over 30 new delightful products in the Golden Jubilee year,” he said. The upcoming range will include around 20 new ice cream products. We expect the demand for our dairy products to be 25-30 per cent higher than last year,” Bandlish said. Mother Dairy has also announced its expansion plans for dairy and fruits and vegetables (F&V) business. . The company will invest Rs 650 crore to set up two new plants for processing milk and fruits and vegetables. It will invest an additional Rs 100 crore to expand the capacity of its existing plants, taking the total capex to Rs 750 crore.
