Switch Mobility, the EV division of Ashok Leyland, today introduced India's first electric double-decker AC bus. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was also present on the occasion. As of now, Switch is running its twin-floor electric AC buses in the United Kingdom. This electric double-decker AC bus EiV22 has a 231 kWh battery and dual gun charging system to charge it. According to the company, this bus can cover a distance of up to 250 km on a single charge.The company said that the company has received an order for 200 electric double-decker buses in Mumbai and is trying to carve out its niche in the electric double-decker segment in the country.In April this year, Switch Mobility announced an investment of £300 million to develop a range of electric buses and light commercial vehicles in India and the UK.Switch EiV 22 is designed and developed for India. We are confident that the EiV 22 will achieve success in public transport.
