In the cabinet meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 23 out of 24 proposals were passed. Roadshow for Maha Kumbh, Noida-Greater Noida Aqua Metro extension, Rs 4,164 crore for development of 9 cities, and creation of Guarantee Redemption Fund were decided.

Uttar Pradesh News: In the cabinet meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, many important proposals for the development of the state were discussed. A total of 24 proposals were put forward in this meeting, out of which 23 were approved. Some big and far-reaching decisions were taken in the meeting, which include important proposals like road show for Mahakumbh, expansion of metro projects, urban development, solar energy projects, and amendment in GST.

Road show for Mahakumbh

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to organize road shows in the country and abroad for the Mahakumbh to be held in Prayagraj. This step has been taken to make the state's preparations for the organization of Mahakumbh more effective. Through the road show, the state government wants to promote the importance of Mahakumbh globally, so that participation of a large number of devotees from the country and abroad can be ensured.

Expansion of Noida-Greater Noida Metro

The cabinet meeting has approved the expansion of the metro line between Noida and Greater Noida. Under this project, Aqua Metro Line will reach Knowledge Park-20 of Greater Noida via Noida Sector-51. This will not only increase the convenience of regional traffic, but will also accelerate the development of Noida and Greater Noida.

Approval of Rs 4,000 crore for urban development

For the expansion of urban areas of the state, the government has approved seed capital of more than Rs 4,000 crore for the development of 9 major cities. This includes cities like Saharanpur, Mathura-Vrindavan, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Lucknow, Moradabad, Khurja, Banda and Meerut. A proposal of Rs 4,164.16 crore has been passed as financial assistance for the development of these cities.

Formation of Guarantee Redemption Fund

The government has taken an important step and decided to create a Guarantee Redemption Fund. The purpose of this fund is to ensure that if any department defaults financially, then its payment can be made from the fund. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a guarantee of Rs 1,63,399.82 crore for this. This step will ensure financial management and responsibility of departments in the states.

Amendment in GST on Extra Neutral Alcohol

The Uttar Pradesh government has made a major change in GST and has decided to bring Extra Neutral Alcohol under the purview of VAT by excluding it from GST. The state government is expected to increase revenue from this. This step will provide 100 percent revenue benefit from Extra Neutral Alcohol, although there will be no change in the prices of liquor.

Solar power project in Bundelkhand

The Bundelkhand region has great potential in the field of solar energy, and the state government has taken steps in this direction. An 800 MW solar power project is under construction in Chitrakoot, for which Rs 619.90 crore has been approved for transmission line and substation. The energy generated from this project will be evacuated through the Green Energy Corridor of the Government of India.
