Uttar Pradesh News: The incidents of road accidents are increasing day by day across the country, in which many people lose their lives. These accidents often happen due to lack of awareness. Recently, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared important information about this serious problem, which said that every year about 26,000 people lose their lives in road accidents in the state. The CM directed to take many concrete steps to change this situation.Important instructions of the Chief Minister regarding road safetyOn the first day of the new year, CM Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting of the State Road Safety Council, in which he gave strict instructions to various departments related to road safety. He also said that if a vehicle is repeatedly challaned, then both its license and permit should be canceled. Apart from this, CM Yogi also ensured that road safety efforts are not limited to Lucknow only, but it should be implemented effectively in all parts of the state.Mahakumbh and traffic systemCM Yogi also took stock of the preparations for the Mahakumbh, in which he directed the deployment of Provincial Guard Force (PRD) and Home Guard personnel for traffic management. A complete plan is already being prepared to ensure that there is no disturbance in the traffic system during a big event like Mahakumbh.Awareness campaign on road safetyThe CM ordered to convene a meeting of the District Road Safety Committees by January 5, so that road safety measures can be discussed. Apart from this, awareness programs on road safety rules will be organized in all the schools and colleges of the state from January 6 to 10. He also said that this awareness campaign should not be limited to Lucknow, but it should be spread widely throughout the state.A review meeting on road safety will be held every monthCM Yogi said that a road safety meeting should be held every month under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. In this, officials of Superintendent of Police, Municipal Commissioner, RTO, PWD, Education Department and Health Department should be compulsorily present. He asked the officials to identify the likely places of accidents and strictly implement safety measures at those places.Special focus on minorsCM Yogi also expressed concern over driving by minors. He directed that strict action should be taken to prevent minors from driving e-rickshaws and other vehicles. Along with this, registration of e-rickshaws has been made mandatory so that illegal vehicles can be curbed.Hoardings and signage for road safetyThe CM said that signage should be installed to reduce accidents on the road. Apart from this, hoardings should also be installed by the departments related to information, transport and road safety, which make people aware about the rules of road safety. These hoardings will be installed outside all districts, tehsils, police stations and municipal bodies, so that common people can also know these rules and understand the importance of road safety.25,000-26,000 deaths every year in road accidentsCM Yogi said that about 25,000-26,000 people lose their lives in road accidents every year. This figure is extremely worrying, and lack of awareness has been blamed for this. He directed the state government to review the progress of these district-level initiatives every three months, so that these accidents can be reduced.Ban on illegal buses and noise pollutionThe CM also expressed concern about illegally running buses and said that special attention should be paid to the fitness of these buses. Apart from this, there was also talk of banning modified silencers and noisy horns in bikes, so that noise pollution can be prevented.ConclusionRoad safety is a serious subject, and the steps taken by the government for this are the need of the hour.
