Three Sri Lankan crew members were also on the ship. However, a rescue operation has been started to save everyone. The Maritime Security Center (MSC) posted on Platform X on social media that the Comoros-flagged oil tanker capsized a few miles southeast of Ras Madraka near the port of Duqm. The ship has been identified as the Prestige Falcon. There is also a major oil refinery here in the industrial area of Dukm.

Search for crew members continues

MSC said that the crew members of the ship are still missing. The search for them is continuing. This also includes a major oil refinery, which is also part of the huge industrial area of this city. This is Oman's largest single economic project.

The ship was heading towards Yemen

The port of Duqm is located on the south-western coast of Oman, which is very close to the major oil and gas mining projects of the Sultanate. It is being told that the oil tanker was heading towards the port city of Aden in Yemen. The oil tanker is lying upside down submerged in the water. Shipping data also shows that this ship was built in 2007. This ship is 117 meters long. It is said that such small tankers are usually used for short journeys.
