Pawandeep Rajan was declared the winner of the singing reality show 'Indian Idol 12' after a 12-hour-long finale on Sony TV. He received a trophy, a cash prize of ₹25 lakh and a car after being declared the show's winner. Arunita Kanjilal and Sayli Kamble were declared the first runner up and the second runner up, respectively.

Mumbai: The reality singing show Indian Idol 12, which premiered in November 2020, has finally come to an end with Uttarakhand boy Pawandeep Rajan lifting the winner’s trophy. Pawandeep had won hearts soon as show premiered and fans already saw a winner in him.

Today (August 15), Indian Idol conducted the greatest grand finale that ran for 12 hours – 12pm to 12 am. After a 12-hour long grand finale, with top 6 finalists – Sayli Kamble, Arunita Kanjilal, Nihal Tauro, Pawandeep Rajan, Danish Mohd and Shanmukha Priya – the winner was finally announced.

Apart from lifting the trophy, Pawandeep also won a car and Rs. 25 lakh cash prize.

Previously, in an interview with ETimes TV, Pawandeep shared, “I am sad that the show is coming to an end and I will have to leave my friends and go. I am also happy and excited that I have made it to the finale and finally the moment has arrived which we all have been waiting for. All the singers who participated this time were talented and superb. After two days everyone is going to be at their own houses. We have been two together for 10 months now and after August 15, we won’t get to live together again like this.”

The finale night saw a host of celebrities including Alka Yagnik, Kiara Alia Advani and Sidharth Malhotra. The judges of the season - Anu Malik, Himesh Reshammiya and Sonu Kakkar - added to the entertainment and fun along with host Aditya Narayan and Jay Bhanushali. Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa also came for a brief time to conduct an award segment.
