RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav also made serious allegations against the Chief Minister. He said that the Chief Minister has insulted the entire state and his act has brought shame to the people of Bihar. He raised the question why the BJP and both the Deputy Chief Ministers of the state are silent on this matter.

Tejashwi also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that "PM Modi's beloved Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has brought shame to the Biharis. This is the first time that a Chief Minister has insulted the national anthem." He demanded that the Chief Minister should apologize to the people of the country.
