Vande Bharat Express: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off three new Vande Bharat trains through virtual medium. These trains will facilitate travel in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. The first train will run from Chennai Central to Nagercoil, the second from Madurai to Bengaluru Cantt, and the third from Meerut City to Lucknow. PM Modi said that the introduction of these trains has increased tourism, which is boosting local businesses and employment opportunities. Describing Vande Bharat trains as the new face of modern Indian Railways, he said that 102 Vande Bharat trains are now running across the country. The PM also underlined the need for rapid development of the southern states.

While flagging off, PM Modi said, 'The introduction of Vande Bharat trains has led to a boom in tourism wherever these trains run. This has boosted local businesses and created new employment opportunities. I congratulate the citizens for this achievement.'

Rapid development of southern states is very important - PM Modi

The PM said, 'Rapid development of southern states is very important to achieve the goal of developed India. There is immense talent, immense resources and opportunities in South India. Therefore, the development of the entire South including Tamil Nadu and Karnataka is the priority of our government.'
