Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a joint conference of Chief Ministers and Chief Justices of High Courts on Saturday in the presence of Chief Justice NV Raman. This program is happening after six years. The conference is a forum to discuss the challenges before the judiciary.
Justice Raman's proposal for development of infrastructure in courts has been made part of the agenda of the conference. Sources said that topics like filling judicial vacancies, pending cases, legal aid services and future draft and e-Adalat Phase-III have also been placed on the top of the agenda.
Justice Ramana and Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju will also address the inaugural session of the day-long programme. Various business sessions will be held after the conference, in which the Chief Minister and the Chief Justice will discuss the topics on the agenda and try to reach a consensus.
