Cricket Desk: Indian opener Prithvi Shaw took to Instagram and shared a picture of his brand new BMW. The rising star was ecstatic with his new purchase and the same was evident in the caption. “Started from the bottom now we’re here!!,” Shaw captioned the post. Although these are still early days in Shaw’s cricket career, the right-handed batter has made a name for himself.

Shaw can attack bowlers from the outset and his knack of playing big knocks makes him an even greater asset. Having done well in junior-level cricket, the opener was asked to lead the Indian team in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup. Shaw embraced the challenge brilliantly and took the Boys to glory. The very same year the dasher made his international debut and slammed a brilliant hundred in his maiden Test outing.

In fact, Shaw is the first and only batter to hit hundreds on Ranji, Duleep Trophy, and Test debut. Although there were some hiccups in Shaw’s way, he didn’t put his guards and bounced back in style. His brilliance over the 22 yards also bagged him a handsome amount of money. Subsequently, he became a proud owner of a BMW.

Meanwhile, Shaw was last seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 where he represented Delhi Capitals. The dasher was in fine form in the competition as DC finished the league stage at the pinnacle position. However, they couldn’t get the glory owing to defeats in Eliminator and Qualifier 2. Overall, Shaw smashed 579 runs in 15 games with his strike rate touching 160.

Although these numbers couldn’t earn Shaw a place in India’ T20 World Cup squad, the 21-year-old would be determined in his upcoming assignments. Following the conclusion of the global event, India will host New Zealand in three T20Is and a couple of Test matches.

With prominent Indian players being pretty busy lately, senior players are expected to be rested for these fixtures. Hence, Shaw is all but likely to come in the picture. The youngster has played just a handful of international matches so far. Hence, he would be determined to enhance his record.
