Shardiya Navratri: The third day of Navratri is dedicated to the Chandraghanta form of Maa Durga. This form of Maa Chandraghanta is considered to be very peaceful and beneficial. Story of Maa Chandraghanta

According to religious beliefs, Maa Chandraghanta was incarnated when a fierce war broke out between the gods and demons. An asura named Mahishasura was fighting with the gods to gain control over heaven. Seeing this crisis, the gods prayed to the Trimurti - Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh for help. Hearing the prayers of the gods, the energy that appeared from the anger of the Trimurti led to the incarnation of a divine goddess. This goddess was given his trident by Lord Shiva, a chakra by Lord Vishnu, and a bell by Indra. Along with this, the Sun gave her his brightness and a sword, while the lion was made her vehicle.
