In the 13th match of IPL 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 4 wickets. RCB had a target of 170 runs, which the team achieved by losing only 6 wickets in the last over. Shahbaz Ahmed scored the highest 45 runs, while Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten on 44.


Earlier, batting after losing the toss, Rajasthan scored 169 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Jos Buttler played an unbeaten innings of 70 runs in 47 balls. At the same time, Shimron Hetmyer remained unbeaten on 42 off 31 balls. Hasranga, Willie and Harshal took 1-1 wickets for RCB.


Karthik and Shahbaz made a comeback

Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed proved to be the troubleshooters of the team after losing four wickets at 62. Both made a comeback of the team for the sixth wicket with a partnership of 67 runs in 32 balls. In the 9th over of RCB's innings, Rajasthan Royals took 2 wickets in 2 consecutive balls. On the fourth ball of the 9th over, Virat Kohli was run out for 5 runs and on the very next ball, Yuzvendra Chahal clean bowled David Willey on his charismatic ball. After hitting the ball, Chahal entered the gap between the bat and the pad and took off Willie's middle stump.


Strong start for RCB

Chasing the target, Bangalore started well. Captain Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat added 55 runs in 7 overs for the first wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal broke this partnership by dismissing Faf. Du Plessis returned to the pavilion after scoring 29 off 20 balls. His catch is caught by Trent Boult at long on. In the very next over, Rawat (26) was dismissed by Navdeep Saini.


Butler-Hetmyer take over the Royals

In-form Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer put on an unbeaten partnership of 83 runs off 51 balls for the fourth wicket. In this, Buttler contributed 37 runs in 20 balls and Hetmyer contributed 42 runs in 31 balls. Both scored 66 runs in the last five overs. During this, both hit 6 sixes and two fours.


Butler hit a century of sixes

After getting 3 lives, Butler completed the 12th fifty of his IPL career in 41 balls. Butler hit 6 long sixes in the innings. Both the teams have not made any change in the playing XI. Glenn Maxwell has definitely joined RCB, but players contracted from Cricket Australia will not be able to play in the tournament till April 5. For this reason Maxi has not got a place in the playing XI.
